The Undugu Mentorship Initiative wishes to invite you once more for a weekend of inspiration at the Taita Hills in Taita County on Saturday, the 2nd June 2012. The theme of the visit is "Living Your Dream", a series that has been on going from our previous visit to the schools. The 2-day event takes the team to three schools which have been in the mentoring programme since 2009 and a church youth grouping.

 Saturday 2nd June 2012:

The team leaves Mombasa at 5.30AM to arrive at Wundanyi town at 8.30AM. The team will be segmented into two groups. Group A will head to Kitumbi High School, some 15Km from Wundanyi. Kitumbi High School is a mixed Day and Boarding school at the peaks of the famous Ngangao forest. Team B will head to Shimbo Secondary, just 6Kms from Wundanyi, overlooking the Werugha ridges. Both schools expect the teams at 9.00AM, with a capacity of around 320 students each.

The sessions in the school are expected to take 3 hours with emphasis on group discussions. At 1PM, the two teams converge at Mgange township. The team then heads to St Mary's High School Lushangonyi. St Marys High School is boys-only full boarding with capacity of 400 students located at the leefy lee ward foot of Iyale Hill. Session will begin at 2PM to 5PM. We encourage all mentors to pick a maximum of 5 students using the prescribed forms, whose progress they wish to monitor.

Lushangonyi is 220Kms from Mombasa. The team shall have a sleep over at Wundanyi town. With an altitude of over 4300ft a.s.l , the town sorrounded by the lushy Taita hills and generally experiences low temperatures. All mentors are urged to equip themselves with warm clothing.

Sunday 3rd June 2012

In May 2010, the visited St Stephens ACK Church at Wundanyi. The church and the team have arranged a follow up visit. The team will attend the Youth service at 8AM then have a short follow up session with the youths of the church from 10AM. Around 60 youths are expected to attend.

At 1PM, the team sets out on a three-hour journey back to Mombasa to arrive at or around 4PM; having had both a fun-filled and inspiring weekend at what most argue is the Coast Province's most beautiful countryside. In total, the team will have interacted with around 1100 youths in Coast province.
